WIDE Sponsored Project Moves Forward::Is Featured in The State News
A July 25, 2005 State News articles features an interview with Co-Director Bill Hart-Davidson and focuses on the ongoing development of a WIDE sponsored project. The project is an online game called INK that works towards developing the writing proficiencies of its players.
Since the WIDE Center’s chief research question is: How should written information be designed in digital environments to serve the needs of writers, readers, and users, the Center works to find answers to that question by supporting innovative research. To that end, WIDE is partnering with and sponsoring the work of an MSU graduate student as he continues working on the creation of an online text-based video game that works as an educational tool for student writers.
In the State News article, Co-Director Hart-Davidson notes that “One of the things we have as a goal is to support people doing innovative work and research that advances our knowledge in writing in digital environments . . . the idea is to build an incentive to help other people learn.”
